 spring PREVIEW

After this frosty and endless winter, we have never been more ready to pack away our woolies. So in anticipation of the sweet days of spring and summer, we present Sandy, Marcie and Ilene’s favorites.

  Jackets
S: This is definitely the time to be pretty in pink. It’s everywhere! A short pink and black chenille hounds tooth jacket by R&J Sport get’s my vote.

M: I can’t wait to wear Painted Pony’s printed linen jacket in a whimsical 50’s print. They call it The Boomerang… but what’s in a name.
 .
I: An incredibly light perforated suede shirt/jacket …in chamois, pink and turquoise. Truly irresistible and extremely well priced. Picking the color will be the hardest part.

  Trousers
S: I’m an Oska addict. My goal - one in each color. This season’s cropped linen pant, “hose nara”, is a must have. The colors are fantastic and the fit is loose and easy.

M: Loco Lindo’s floral rayon floods. Light and easy, I see the palm tree’s swaying. to come in.

I: We raved about it in our last newsletter, but honestly, we have to do it again. These ‘miracle pants’ from Drama, really are.

  Skirts
A welcome alternative to our beloved capris...

S: I want Niche’s black and white long linen A line skirt. I’ll wear it with my black halter - no, maybe with my hot pink tee, but then again, the turquoise linen sweater might be nice and it’s a good color for me.

M: I gave up shorts years ago but am warming to the idea of a short skirt. Which will I choose? Christoper Blue’s lightweight jean style with a lived-in look or Elliott Lauren’s sexy car wash. I might have to have both.

I: I’ve always been a sucker for flowy printed skirts and Sarah Arizona has done it again. My big decision: short or long, reversible or not.

  Suiting
S,M,I… it’s unanimous. Some strong collections from Yansi Fugel, Drama, Renfrew, Kay Unger, and even some private label…..you’ll just have to come in.

  Suiting
Hooray! A fit for everyone, from the snuggest of snug to the most relaxed.

S: On a hot day there is nothing like it …a tank with a built-in bra! I want the black and white racer back and the blue heirloom print from City Lights

M: I’m of the everything’s too tight school and applaud Kathleen Summers’ for her cotton knit tees without lycra. I’ve begun a collection.

I: I pick Glima’s 3/4 sleeve subtle toned tie dyes. These are not for Dead Heads.

  Sweaters
S: Sarah Arizona has two new styles in their famous ribbon yarn that have “best seller” written all over them. As always, the colors are wonderful.

M: United Knitwear’s linen sweaters in bright colors. Cool and light, wears like a tee shirt, but looks more important. Crew or vee, you might want more than one.

I: Her prices are not for the feint of heart, but Barbara Well’s hand knits are well worth the investment. My favorite is the asymmetrical zipper sweater (featured in our March ad in Boston Magazine). These sweaters can be custom ordered.
