Women in Fashion
September 1996 |
| We
welcome the recent dialogue in the Globe about the fashion
industry's glamorization of young thin models. Seventh Avenue continues
to encourage women to want the lives, bodies and clothes that have
nothing to do with who they are. Last season many styles were body
conscious, leaving little choice for woman flattered by looser designs.
We have real women in mind when we buy and work very hard to find
beautiful clothes for women with "real" bodies. It's time the fashion
industry looked to women for inspiration, not the other way around.

man's PERSPECTIVE |
| "Consider
an essay on the ornaments worn by women; on their feelings for clothes
and other things, their ways of observing and combining them. All
day long they compare a thousand visible things that go unnoticed
by men." an
