| I –Curio’s
multi-buttoned ribbon trimmed cardigan is as cute
as a button. All three of us want this one so I
guess we’ll wear it on alternate days.

TROUSERS
S – It’s not suede, but you could fool
me. It’s suede cloth and it’s washable. Elliott
Lauren’s waistless boot leg fits like a
dream. After all these years, we wouldn’t expect
anything less from Elliot.
M – I’ve thought long and hard about
this. I’m still loyal to my beloved Christopher
Blue cords, always a fantastic fit but there
will be those days I reach for |
Willow’s
full-legged cargos or Fiber’s stretch
overdyes, all in mushy corduroy.
I – An old favorite has reappeared
better than ever and we’re all thrilled. Welcome
back Margaret M. This Canadian line’s
bi-stretch trousers (they also make great skirts)
has a style for every body. My favorite is full
legged with a very wide contour waistband.
Katherine H. would have loved this one too. |

SUITS
Having recently gone through an event in my life that
required me to wear a suit I feel an obligation to pass on
the following advice: Shop early for suits, and here
are some reasons:
- We start receiving our first Fall suits in late June.
By November your choices are limited. It’s much the
same as buying a bathing suit in July, you can find one…
but it might not be your first choice.
- By shopping earlier in the season there is a much
better chance of special ordering colors and mixed sizes
(especially helpful to those who are one size on the top
and another on the bottom).
- Take advantage of suit trunk shows, i.e., Drama (see
trunk show box).
So add yet another reminder to your already over
scheduled planner and you’ll have just the right suit for
that up-coming job interview, speaking engagement, friend’s
wedding or your child’s Bar Mitzvah.
Take it from me, Marcie
Here are some of our favorites:

| S - I’m not
disclosing the name of this line (competitors, you
know) but we think it’s quite a find. We are always
on the prowl for non Betty Business type suits and I
already have my eye on a little piped blue number with
short pleated skirt.
M – I’m not your traditional suit
wearer, but I’m expanding my horizons for this one. Garfield
and Marks black and red pinstriped crepe trouser
suit. A very relaxed zip front jacket… Just my kinda
suit!
I – Neesh succeeds in proving that not all
suits are created equal. This whimsical, creative and
washable group of suiting is all I need. They also
make sweaters and, when appropriate, I’ll swap my
jacket for their coordinated knitwear. |
Here’s our Susan wearing
the bow front cardigan and velvet trimmed skirt.
